Michael is a son of the founder, Ron Nash who established the practice in 1957. One of ten children, Michael completed his schooling at St Josephs in Hunters Hill. Following his legal studies at Macquarie University and then the College of Law under the guidance of nationally and internationally recognised educators, he was admitted to practice in 1984. Michael began his career as a law clerk in the family business in 1980 and became a partner in 1984. His colleagues would describe Michael as committed, energetic and a gifted advocate.
Over the last 30 years Michael has handled just about every legal issue that comes to mind.
He has extensive experience in property law whether it be residential, commercial or rural and has steered clients through business transactions, family law issues, and of course, the management of wills, will disputes and settling of estates.
He is an outstanding advocate and is very comfortable in the court room. He has defended clients in the areas of criminal law and represented clients in civil matters, for example, personal injury and other negligence matters.
Michael is a nationally accredited mediator and Family Law Dispute Resolution Practitioner. Mediation is a powerful tool being used these days so that clients do not have to wait for the court to hear their matter. This can save clients’ money as well as emotional distress. Michael knows the costs, risks and uncertainty of venturing into court, so is well placed to assist parties to resolve disputes out of court.
Michael is based at the Budgewoi office. In his spare time he likes to hike; his longest walk being the ‘coast to coast‘ – 190 miles across England.
