Peter Wotton

Peter has practised law for more than 40 years, most of it in family law, and has acted for Central Coast families across three generations.

Peter attended Maitland Boys High and finished his secondary schooling at Newcastle Boys' High, a selective school. He went on to Sydney University, where he lived at St Paul's College and completed degrees in Arts and Laws. Founding partner Ron Nash employed him as a solicitor in 1978, and he became a partner in 1984. Ask his colleagues about Peter and you'll hear the same words: highly experienced, hard-working, effective.

Most of Peter's four decades in practice have been spent in family law, appearing regularly for clients in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court in Newcastle, Sydney and Parramatta. He takes the time to understand both the legal problem and the person sitting across from him, then works resourcefully towards a solution - whether that means negotiating a sensible settlement or pressing a client's case on property and parenting matters. What drives him is delivering good, sustainable outcomes in a thoroughly professional way, and the long list of loyal clients he has built across the Central Coast, spanning three generations, speaks to that.

Peter also makes regular home visits to ill, disabled and elderly clients who can't easily come to the office, helping with wills, enduring powers of attorney and appointments of enduring guardian. He has extensive experience administering deceased estates and considerable expertise in Succession Act claims - contested wills and estates.

Away from the office, Peter is a former Secretary of The Entrance Lions Club and the father of three adult sons, with whom he shares a passion for rugby.
