How we handle your personal information - collected carefully, used only for your matter, and never sold.
Who we are
Nash Allen Williams & Wotton is a law firm practising on the NSW Central Coast from offices at Tuggerah and Budgewoi. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, alongside our professional duties of confidentiality as solicitors - which in many cases go further than privacy law requires.
What we collect
When you contact us or engage us to act, we may collect your name, contact details, and the information needed to advise on and run your matter. Website enquiry forms collect your name, phone, email and a brief description of what's happening. Please hold confidential details until we have completed a conflict check.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, run conflict checks, provide legal services, manage billing, and keep you informed about your matter by phone, SMS or email. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use client information for advertising.
Storage and security
Client records are held securely in our practice systems and, where original documents are involved (such as wills held in safe custody), in secure physical storage. Access is limited to the people working on your matter and those who support them.
Disclosure
We disclose information only as needed to progress your matter (for example to courts, other parties' representatives, barristers or experts), where you authorise it, or where the law requires it.
AML & CTF changes
Starting 1 July 2026, Australian law firms will be required to comply with updated Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing regulations.
As part of these changes, we may request additional identity verifications and financial details to meet our compliance obligations.
